Trick #16 – Make sure you get enough rest
Your abs are made up of muscles, and like the other muscles in your body, they need to have a rest too. Try to space out your workouts so that your abdominal muscles have time to repair and get stronger.

Trick #17 – Add variety and beat boredom
Doing the same thing over and over again may be alright for a while — but after doing the same tome for 2 months you can get a little crazy with boredom. So add some variety to your ab workouts. There are so many different types of routines that you can find for working out various parts of your abdominal muscles.
Trick #18 – Keep up a constant tension
When doing your ab exercises, try to flex your abs and keep them this way throughout your workout. When you squeeze your abs while doing the plank, or balance work or whatever ab exercise you’re doing, you can get even more out of the moves. How do you know you’re squeezing your abs? You’ll feel like you’re bracing yourself for someone to punch you in the tummy.
Trick #19 – Work out more than just your upper abs
Many people forget that the abs is not just your upper abdomen. It also includes your lower abdominal muscles and your obliques at your sides. So when working out, make sure you have moves that target these areas as well. Working multiple areas will give you a more toned and trimmed look.
Trick #20 – Try out moves from Pilates or yoga
Working on your abs also means getting a stronger core. Did you know that there are many Pilates and yoga moves that can help you achieve this? So try to switch up your routines — alternate between ending your workout with a cardio session and going for yoga or Pilates moves. You also get an extra bonus — increased flexibility and lower stress levels!
